Champagne Pommery isa Champagne house located in Reims. The house was founded asPommery & Greno in 1858 by Alexandre Louis Pommery and Narcisse Greno withthe primary business being wool trading. Under the guidance ofAlexandre's widow, Louise Pommery, the firm was dedicated to Champagneproduction and soon became one of the region's largest Champagnebrands.Champagne Pommery was the first house to commercialize a brut Champagnein 1874.

Pommery is currently owned bythe Vranken-Pommery Monopole Group (located in Reims), whichalso owns Heidsieck & Co Monopole and Vranken, Château laGordonne, Domaine Royal de Jarras, and Rozès in their portfolio.
In August 2022, Pommery announced a collaborationwith Japanese rock star Yoshiki as the brand's first co-release witha celebrity artist.

This Louise 2006 remains "naked", as close as possible to the wine. It is a champagne of its time, of an absolute purity that expresses the quintessence of the oenological know-how of the House of Pommery. The robe is a deep gold, and the nose, floral and creamy. It offers notes of quince paste and candied plum. In the mouth, the attack is perfectly frank. The finish reveals a subtle bitterness with delicate notes of citron.

This has a gorgeous nose of pie crust, biscuit, dried apple, hazelnut and citrus rind. Very fine and creamy with sharp acidity. I like the biscuity character. Persistent. Wonderful complexity, elegance and finesse. 65% chardonnay from Avize and Cramant, plus 35% pinot noir from Ay. Drink or hold.
