Chateau de Beaucastel 歷史追溯至16世紀，是隆河有機葡萄農(1950’s年)的先峰，在2001取得 Ecocert 認證，甚至也是生物動法的先驅，早早在1974年便實施，強調葡萄藤與日月星辰產生的相互關系，酒莊由Perrin家族擁有和管理，Jacques Perrin 被公認為最佳釀酒師之一，在普遍使用化學藥劑的年代，堅持以天然的方式栽種葡萄，不使用任何化肥，除蟲和除草劑，全以手工的方式進行，蜜蜂、甲蟲、蟬、雀鳥、等小昆蟲和動物在葡萄園隨處可見，葡萄樹與附近的環境形成了獨一無異的生態系統，達至平衡，令葡萄樹得到最佳自然的抵抗力，而在Dijon取得釀酒學文憑的兒子Jean-Pierre ，是第五代人接手酒莊經營，也遵從祖先對自然不干預的理念，堅持表達純天然的風土。

Beaucastel 所身處的地段氣候扮演著很重要的角色，低雨量、充足的日照、日夜顯著的溫差, 而覆蓋土壤表面的小圓石，相信是遠古時在山脈高處的石塊滙集而成的，這些小石塊能在日間吸收熱力，到晚間釋放到土壤，地方風系misral wind 使老樹保持乾燥和潔淨，而葡萄園土壤有層源於中世紀時代海底沙石，被阿爾卑斯山的沉積土覆蓋著，呈現土壤的多樣性。
全酒莊有130公頃，75公頃的屬於法定CNPD和大約25公頃屬 Cote du Rhone，其餘30公頃只種植一些普通農作物，等待種植新的葡萄樹，每年有1至2公頃會被犁土和重新種植、不強調橡木化，13種葡萄都是劃分開栽種，並分開照料，發展出獨特的個性，Grenache & Cinsault 為酒提供了溫暖、酒色和圓潤感，Mourvèdre、Syrah、Muscardin和Vaccarese 提供了優良的結構，直接的味道和陳存能力，Counoise 與 Picpoul則創造了新鮮感和獨特的香氣，再再加上世代相傳的獨特配法，把十三種葡萄混合，釀做出令人驚嘆的佳釀。

Fantastic nose of cooked apricots, a wide spectrum of candied fruit and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, concentrated and creamy, with a very caressing texture on the mid palate and a very long finish that has great restrained power. From organically grown grapes.

The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc brings another level of precision and focus. Honeyed quince, white flowers, honeysuckle, chalky minerality, and toasted spice notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with beautiful mid-palate depth and a remarkable sense of freshness while staying rich and textured. One of the stalwarts of the appellation, Château de Beaucastel continues to produce an incredible array of wines from their estate in the northwestern edge of the appellation. Looking at the vintages reviewed here, the 2022s are ripe, sexy wines that bring to mind 2019 or even 2009. The whites are absolutely brilliant, and while only tasted from barrel, the 2022s will certainly be incredible wines. The 2021s also showed well and possess more depth and density than most in the vintage. In general, Mourvèdre seemed more challenging in 2021, but you certainly wouldn’t have that impression after tasting at Beaucastel. The closest comparison here for the 2021s would be the 2008s, which are balanced, elegant wines that are still drinking beautifully today. The 2021s should be a step up in quality, although I suspect they will evolve along a similar trajectory. Lastly, the estate is wrapping up a massive renovation of the cellar that was built with sustainability front and center and will be using an evaporative cooling mechanism with stored rainwater.

An aromatic vintage at this stage, with honeyed pear and honeysuckle characters. Full, round and generous, with plenty of glycerol, all cut through by a strong beam of acidity. Alcohol is just gently warming. Certainly a rich vintage, all about power, weight and ripeness.

Roughly 80% Roussanne, with the balance a mix of other permitted white varieties, Beaucastel's 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a fine, fine effort. Tangerine and peach notes are plump and round on the full-bodied palate, which is quite rich and plush in feel yet long and harmonious on the finish. The ability to be so ripe and sumptuous yet balanced is truly remarkable.

Fragrant honeysuckle, lemon peel, white peach and ripe pear aromas highlight the delicious 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc. Vibrant and focused, it checks in at 14% alcohol and delivers a mouthful of gorgeous white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Finishing with discrete saltiness, the 2022 gracefully walks off the stage. I loved it!
