🌍 Francs Cotes de Bordeaux is one of the best known for good quality out of 4 Cotes de Bordeaux appellation. Famed winery with strong background like Le Puy, Puygueraud, Les Charmes-Godard are also located in Francs Cotes de Bordeaux. Francs is also one of the village name in the appellation. Located in right bank, so Merlot is also the base of Francs's wine, but good to know that Côtes de Bordeaux is the appellation with the most Malbec planting, about 10% of all variety.

🔍 For sure that Hubert de Bouard of Angelus and Dominique Hebrard of Cheval Blanc bought it as they realise the potential of the winery.

Chateau de Francs is one of the oldest properties in the Bordeaux region, with a history that dates back almost 2,000 years. Of course not the same as the planting history.

In 1985, the high proportion of limestone clay in the vineyard caught their fancy, which can rival Saint Emilion, so they bought in and renovate this 40 hectare vinyard, modernize all winery facilities and replant the vineyard. Producing this entry red, white wine and two more high-end cuvee!
