Chateau des Gravieres is the flagship wine of Les Vignobles Labuzan, which was founded in 1847 and is now run by seventh-generation brothers Denis and Thierry Labuzan. The winery is located in Portets, both a port and a village on the banks of the Garonne River, 20 kilometers south of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Graves region.

The unique gravelly soil produces red wines with a distinctive freshness, rich fruity flavors and graphite texture from vines that average 25 years old.

Brown brick red color. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and red plum, cedar and herbs, mocha, and black tea and grilled pepper with a satiny, lively, bone-dry medium body and a tingling, interesting, medium-long finish with accents of blackberry, cassis and plum, cigar box, leather, and mocha, and black tea with violets and cassis with chewy, grippy tannins and light oak flavor. A wonderful food wine with structure and complexity; wines like this are how the next generation will discover wine and the older generations will have bottles such as these as their daily drinkers.
