Chateau Lafont Menaut is only 15 kilometers away from Bordeaux. It is located in the core area of ​​Pessac Leognan, adjacent to the famous Smith Haut Lafitte, and shares the top unique terroir. The owner Philibert Perrin also owns Chateau Carbonnieux, a famous winery in the same area.

The name of Chateau Lafont Menaut comes from the fact that in 1990, the owner acquired the manor and adjacent land of the famous 18th-century writer and philosopher Montesquieu. During the renovation, he accidentally discovered an old warehouse called Menaut Fountain. From then on, he determined to change the name of the winery to "Lafont-Menaut".

Philibert Perrin has replanted 15 hectares of red grape varieties and 3.5 hectares of white grape varieties over the years to revive this ancient vineyard.
