Pessac Leognan 知名的列級酒莊，酒莊名稱Latour取庭院內一座歷史悠久的古塔，是區內16家列級莊當中6家紅白酒均能入選列級行列之一，1871年一位德國酒商Edouard Kressmann非常欣賞此酒莊的出品，之後佢個仔Alfred在1930年買下Latour-Martillac，擴充酒莊規模並開始種植 Cabernet Sauvignon 和Merlot等紅葡萄，Latour-Martillac 的1934年份紅酒更被選上在英國國王 King George VI佐治六世加冕典禮用的指定酒款，名聲顯赫，在1953年酒莊被評為Graves區的列級酒莊，成為了Pessac Leognan 名莊代表之一。
由Kressmann家族管理至第四代，現在由兩Tristan 和 Loic接手管理，曾經聘用過Michel Rolland 和已故白酒之父Denis Dubourdieu為釀酒顧問，為今天高品質的出品奠定了良好的基礎，酒莊平均樹齡35 年，紅酒放橡木桶陳熟15-18個月，而近年在葡萄比例上加大了Petit Verdot的比例，使酒體發揮更為雄渾豐厚，以達至令人難忘之平衡口感
獨一無二的理想風土
葡萄園一共分為兩大部分。其中一個主要部分位於Martillac高原上，酒莊主要佔據了大部分山丘，而地塊由碎石拼湊而成。
這些由加羅訥河沉積的小卵石由石英，Lydian，Jasper和打火石等精細混合而構成。在這貧瘠的土壤擁有理想的排水能力是種植葡萄的理想風土，特別適合栽種赤霞珠 Cabernet Sauvignon和小維多 PetitVerdot 紅葡萄品種。
另一部分則越漸靠近加隆河，土壤開始呈現出粘土和石灰石的不同輪廓，但仍具有礫石表面。在這裡，梅洛Merlot紅葡萄品種生長最好，還有我們的長相思 Sauvignon Blanc和賽美蓉 Semillon白葡萄品種也十分合適在此風土下種植。

The 2016 Latour Martillac is medium to deepgarnet-purple in color with warm plums, kirsch and redcurrant jelly on the nosewith touches of bay leaves, iron ore and black soil. Medium-bodied with awell-sustained mid-palate of muscular fruit, it has a firm backbone offine-grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing very long.

The 2016 Latour-Martillac offers classicPessac-Léognan scents on the nose: black fruit, black olive and a touch ofsage, plus hints of blue fruit that emerge with time. The palate ismedium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine acidity. A little compact towardthe finish, but with good persistence. My feeling is that this will close downquite soon after bottling, but there is a great wine here.

This is a successful wine, firmlyextracted, and erring on the side of dark chocolate and rich, ripe black cherryflavours. With extremely soft and elongated tannins, this is a great 2016 thatbrings out the best of the vintage and displays a sense of joyousness.

Blackberries, graphite, new leather, and a kiss oftobacco all emerge from this nicely textured, pure, layered Pessac. Givebottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.
