CLASSEMENT DES CRUS BOURGEOIS DU MÉDOC 2020 - CRU BOURGEOIS EXCEPTIONNEL 】

Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2017 Saint Estephe Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel 《WC Selection - F623》

Region : Saint Estephe Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel

Grapes : 48% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

Alcohol:13%vol

The history of Château Lilian Ladouys merges with that of the Médoc. Born in the 16th century, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the 19th century, the estate is reviving light today.
Since 2008, the Lorenzetti family has put all its passion and ambition at the service of wines, which continue to progress and gain notoriety.

In the south-west of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, just a stone's throw from Château Cos d'Estournel and Château Lafite-Rothschild, the elegant Charterhouse Directoire by Lilian Ladouys pierces its horizon of vines. It was here in 2008 that the Lorenzetti Family fell in love with this sleeping beauty from a multi-secular past. Metamorphosed from the vine to the cellar, Lilian Ladouys is now entering the light.

Always a structured wine, this vintage selection has dense fruit flavors and a scented, smoky character. It's full of fruit and structured tannin, with ample acidity and excellent cellaring potential. It's a complex wine that will age well; drink after 2018.

🏅 James Suckling 93 pts
Complex aromas of white pepper, black pepper, crushed berries and nutmeg. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a creamy, refined finish. A core of fascinating fruit and spice here. A blend of 50% merlot, 43% cabernet sauvignon and 7% petit verdot. Drink after 2021.

🏅 Wine Enthusiast 93 pts
Now under the same ownership as the revived Château Pedesclaux in Pauillac, this property is hitting its true potential. This latest release is textured while also having great fruits, rich tannins and considerable aging ability. This wine should be drunk from 2023. ROGER VOSS

🏅 Wine Advocate 90 pts

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Lilian Ladouys has a fragrant herbal waft on the nose with a core of baked red and black currants, Morello cherries, tilled earth and cedar chest. The palate is medium-bodied, delicately played and pleasantly chewy with plenty of freshness and lovely purity on the finish. The wine was aged for 15 months in French oak, 40% new. The blend is 50% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. Eighty percent of the production went into this grand vin.
