South of the place known locally as Montrose beside the village of Cos, we find the hamlets of German and Marbuzet that form a large village in the commune of Saint-Estèphe.

A remarkable cross erected by the village faithful in 1882 stands in the centre of the estate, between the two parts of the vineyard. This cross is the symbol of the marriage of the two names that formed the name of Château German Marbuzet in 1982.

The name of Marbuzet is thought to derive from the Latin marga, which means “marl”, and buxea, which means “encircled by boxwood”. A name that perfectly characterises the estate’s terroir, composed in large part of clay and limestone gravel. A glorious terroir that perfectly expresses itself in the wine of Château German Marbuzet, which also benefits from the advice of Michel Rolland’s Office, Rolland & Associés.
