🌟 Campbeltown style guardian

🌟 Rare single malt whiskey from Campbelltown, Scotland, the whiskey capital of the world
Glen Scotia is located in the Campbelltown production area in Scotland, UK. Campbelltown once had many distilleries and enjoyed the reputation of "The Whiskey Capital of the World". However, after the 1920s, it was affected by factors such as Prohibition in the United States and changes in consumer tastes. Due to the impact, distilleries in the production area have closed down one after another. Today, there are only three distilleries in this production area that are still in continuous operation, and Grandi is one of them.
Grandi was founded in 1832 by the Galbraith Family. In 1895, Stewart Galbraith acquired five other distilleries in Campbelltown and formed Stewart Galbraith & Co. In 1919, Stewart decided to retire and sold the company to West Highland Malt Distillers (WHMD). Unfortunately, five other distilleries closed down and Grandi was sold in 1924 to Duncan MacCallum, the former director of WHMD.
However, misfortune never comes singly, and it wasn't long before Duncan was also in financial trouble. In 1928, Duncan declared bankruptcy and Grandi ceased production. Soon after, Duncan chose to commit suicide by drowning himself in Campbell Loch, the water source of the distillery. Since then, there have been countless ghost stories about Grandi. After the old owner committed suicide, the distillery was taken over by the Bloch Brothers. After Prohibition was repealed in 1933, Grandi resumed production. Afterwards, Glendi went through several twists and turns, and was finally acquired by Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouse Company in Ayrshire in 1994.
Unfortunately, the new buyers did not pay much attention to Granty, and the distillery's operation was unstable until 1999, under the management of Loch Lomond Distillers, a subsidiary of Grantley. Dicai reopened. After Glencatrine was acquired by Exponent Private Equity in 2014, Grandi was handed over to the newly formed Loch Lomond Group (Loch Lomond Group), a subsidiary of Exponent Private Equity.
Granty is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries and its whiskeys are produced in small batches. The distillery is run by a team of seven people led by Iain McAlister. The malt used in Glendy's whiskey making comes from eastern Scotland. Under the professional guidance of Ian's team, the distillery will mix the powdered malt with hot water in a mash barrel to make wort, and then add it to the mash barrel. The wort is transferred to the fermentation barrel and yeast is added for fermentation. The fermentation process takes more than 70 hours. After the fermentation is completed, a mash with a lower alcohol content will be obtained.
Subsequently, the mash will be distilled in a wash still for about 9 hours to obtain a low-alcohol wine with an alcohol content of about 20%, and these low-alcohol wines will continue to be distilled in a spirit still. Distilled to obtain a liquor with an alcohol content of approximately 70%. After distillation, the distillery will select pure liquor and add a small amount of water to the liquor to reduce the alcohol content to 63.5%, and then transfer the liquor into oak barrels for maturation.
