赫斯精選酒莊（The Hess Collection）由瑞士企業家兼著名當代藝術收藏家唐納德•赫斯（Donald Hess）創建。1978年，為了釀制出心目中真正的新世界葡萄酒，赫斯先生將他的酒莊建在了納帕谷維德山（Mount Veeder）的火山岩斜坡上，同時定義了一種全新的釀酒方法。1983年，以赫斯精選酒莊的名義出產的葡萄酒正式問世。

酒莊擁有4個葡萄園，總面積為635英畝，使用有機種植法來管理葡萄園，使用綠色有機混合肥料來澆灌葡萄園。為了預防病害和其他破壞者，酒莊採取的預防性措施也都是使用純天然的物質或自然鬥爭法防範。

另外，酒莊除草則使用機械或手工方式。除了在納帕谷維德山高山地區的葡萄園外，酒莊在納帕谷東北部及南部的葡萄園也屢獲好評，這些成就與該酒莊和多家擁有加州出色葡萄園的家族式葡萄種植者們成功保持良好的關係密不可分。作為可持續發展及有機種植理念方面的宣導者，赫斯精選酒莊將繼續秉承創建者Donald Hess的理念——培育土地，回報你所得到的。

園內主要種植Cabernet Sauvignon、Merlot、Malbec、Chardonnay以及Sauvignon Blanc。其中Veeder Summit園氣候涼爽，土質以火山岩、粘土以及部分火山灰為主，海拔在1300-2000英尺，是加州最高的葡萄園之一；Veeder Hills園土質以沉積的粘土為主；Su'skol土質為砂紙粘土，且受到三藩市海灣的影響，晨間帶霧，為霞多麗（Chardonnay）提供了理想的生長條件。Allomi園氣候相對溫暖，土壤為一層薄粘土覆蓋在沖積土和碎石上。

Aromas of blackcurrants, cedar and tile follow through to a medium body with a juicy, round and creamy mouth-feel. Delicious finish. Mostly cabernet sauvignon, with about a quarter malbec and a touch of petit verdot.

Lush and deeply fruity, with crushed plum, mulled blackberry and açaí berry compote flavors that meld nicely together, while melted black licorice, black tea and mulling spice notes add range and detail.
