Kiyosu Sakura Brewery Co., Ltd. can be traced back to the late Edo period. It was established in the sixth year of Kayei (1853) in what is now Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture, near Kiyosu Castle, which is famous for the residence of Oda Nobunaga. Brew sake. The brewery was built in this ideal location, which boasts high-quality water from the Kiso River system and the rice fields of the Noo plain.

In 1984, with the birth of Kiyosu Castle Nobunaga Demon Slayer, a pioneer in packaged sake and a popular product, Kiyosu Sakura Brewing Co., Ltd. became a national brand. The company has since expanded its product lineup to include soju, cider, liqueurs and spirits.

Kiyosu distilled 5-year-old Japanese craft whiskey in 2015. This whiskey is produced by Kiyosu Sakura Brewing Co., Ltd. in Aichi Prefecture. This distillery was originally a distillery that produced sake and shochu. It started using it after obtaining a whiskey license in 2013. Whiskey is produced in a shochu still. The distillery planned to produce whiskey suitable for dining, so in 2015 it began to distill and mature the first batch of whiskey in barrels. The whiskey they produce is fermented with sake yeast, producing malt whiskey and grain (barley) whiskey, which are then matured for 5 years, blended and bottled.
