Château La Fleur de Boüard was born when Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of the famous Château Angélus, fell for this terroir located on the hillside facing the finest Pomerol growths.

Driven by the deep conviction that the terroirs of Lalande-de-Pomerol could produce exceptional wines worthy of the greatest Bordeaux appellations, he acquired the 25-hectare vineyard in 1998, now extended to 29 hectares. By adopting a precise and virtuous approach, the Fleur de Boüard team crafts wines of exceptional finesse.




Soils 18 ha of clay with a gravel subsoil on the Néac plateau and 11 ha of large gravel with 15% clay, Cold soaking before fermentation at 8 to 10°C - Alcoholic fermentation - 3 to 5 weeks on skin, Entirely gravity-fed vinification, Ageing 15 to 18 months, no fining, no filtration, 50% new oak, 50% one field, Production 130,000 bottles, Yield 30 to 45 hl/ha


🏅 Vinous 93 pts(Neal Martin): 

The 2018 La Fleur de Bouard is very well defined on the nose, gorgeous scents of blackberry, blueberry, violet and potpourri bursting from the glass but retaining fine delineation and focus. The palate is crisp on the entry, with graphite-tinged black fruit framed by fine tannins and a structured, tensile finish. This is one of the best La Fleur de Bouard vintages that I have encountered. Excellent.

Black plum and blueberry on the nose with dark chocolate, clove, oyster shell and walnut husk. It’s full-bodied with firm, silky tannins. Layered and flavorful. Open already, but better from 2023.


🏅 Jeb Dunnuck 93 pts: 

The 2018 La Fleur De Boüard is mostly Merlot but includes 12% Cabernet Franc and just a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon. Blueberries, cassis, graphite, charcoal, and subtle oak notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated, beautifully balanced 2018 that has a terrific mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I’d be happy to have bottles in the cellar.
