Chateau Le Peyrat is on the site of the historic battle of Castillon, fought in 1453 between French and English troops. France's victory was decisive in putting an end to the famous Hundred Years' War. The property currently belongs to the Vignobles Valades, who purchased it in 1981.

The vineyard planted on a hillside offers ideal conditions for grape cultivation: excellent drainage and exposure to sunlight.

The harvest is carried out meticulously, with regular analysis of the grapes so that they are harvested at the peak of maturity. Traditional Bordeaux techniques are used in modern production with stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes:

Visual: Ruby red.

Aromas: Black fruits, notes of coffee and spices such as nutmeg.

Palate: Good body and intense flavor of fruits, spices and coffee. Present tannins and long finish.

Pairing: braised T-bone, rump crumb with bacon farofa, stuffed chicken, gratin pasta, cheese risotto and a mix of cheeses and sausages.
