Mosgaard Whiskey is beautifully decorated in lovely surroundings on South Funen, in a beautiful and idyllically situated disused farm with views of apple orchards and Langelandssundet from our premises.

Mosgaard Whiskey was founded in 2015 and owned by Gitte and Jes Mosgaard, as well as supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
Our distillery is specially designed by Mosgaard Whiskey and handmade by skilled craftsmen in Portugal. Thousands of hammer blows have been struck to hit exactly the shape we wanted, so we achieve the specific flavor profile that characterizes our products.
During the production process, we give ourselves plenty of time - both for mashing to get the right taste out of the barley malt, but also for the fermentation process where we spend twice as much time on the fermentation as is typically used at Scottish distilleries. This means fewer unwanted flavors from the yeast cells, which have the peace to develop and convert the sugars into alcohol in the raw brew.
After brewing, distill twice - both times slowly to ensure the purest "new spirit" as end product. A product that already has the taste and purity that characterizes our finished Whiskey, and already here tastes sweet of malt with notes of i.a. peaches and apples - like a real Funen Whiskey.
Mosgaard Peated Single Malt Whiskey Batch # 6 is the sixth peated whiskey release from Mosgaard, and the oldest aged so far in 4 years
As the name suggests, it has been on Ex. Bourbon dishes, but storage has started in a completely different place. For the first 2 years it has been on "first fill" French oak, which has given it a beautiful dark color and exciting spicy notes. For the last 2 years it has been on Ex. Bourbon casks that contribute with the classic vanilla flavor, which clothes peated whiskey absolutely stunning.
This double ripening is unusual for peated whiskey, but it gives a depth and complexity to the taste when smoky, spicy notes and vanilla sweetness meet. In general, we have experienced that storage on French oak makes the smoke vibrate and wave a little, where the Bourbon dishes calm it down, so the combination is really exciting.
It is bottled at 48.4% - which is why it benefits from a few drops of water in the glass to open up, but also try to give it a little more to taste. At 43-44%, something really happens in the nose.
