⭐️Rice variety developed by the 14th generation of sake brewers - Sak
⭐️Iwate Prefecture sake
The history of Nanbu Bijin can be traced back to 1902. It started with brewing soy sauce and later brewed sake. The name of the brewery was originally named after the founder, Mr. Kuji Sueta, Kuji Sake Brewery. It was not until 1951 that Ito Masaru, who served as the director of the Niho Taxation Office, and Kuji Hideo, the former chairman of Nanbu Bijin, hoped to brew the elegant and pure quality of Nanbu Bijin among the wines that were mainly low in polished rice but had more impurities and sweet taste at that time. Niho City in Iwate Prefecture was formerly known as Nanbu Han (Morioka Han). It was blessed with natural terroir and abundant water resources, so it was named "Nanbu Bijin" with the southern country and beautiful sake as its brand image.
The current general manager of the brewery, Mr. Kuji Kosuke, is the fifth generation of the family. He obtained a degree in brewing at the University of Tokyo, and was guided by brewing expert Professor Takeo Koizumi at the time. He also interned at the Kumamoto Prefecture Brewing Research Institute. After graduation, he returned to Nanbu Bijin Brewery to work. The works he led won gold medals in various competitions of the All-Japan New Sake Inspection Association. Among them, he won the first place in the "Nanbu Touji Self-Brewed Sake Inspection Association", the largest touji faction in Japan, for two consecutive years in 2001 and 2002 (a total of 4 times). He has won the gold medal for eight consecutive years at the World Quality Evaluation Conference overseas. He has achieved brilliant honors. In 2005, Mr. Kuji Kosuke was awarded the Iwate Prefecture Youth Outstanding Skilled Talent Recognition Award at the youngest age.
Don't think that the sake brewery is called Nanbu Bijin and it comes from the southern region of Japan~ In fact, Nanbu Bijin comes from Iwate Prefecture in northeastern Japan. The sake is specially made from the rice variety "Sake Mirai", which has a delicate aroma and slight acidity, a refreshing citrus aroma, rich fruity aroma, and a soft wine taste. It has a slightly spicy taste after a sweet taste.
