The property is one of the oldest in the appellation and was listed in the land register at the end of the 16th century. Château de Nalis is named after its first owner, Jacques Nalis, a farmer from the Archdiocese of Avignon. In 1633 he was placed in charge of a farm building and the surrounding lands and vineyards, which was the origin of the current territory. The Nellis family produced wine here and ruled the land until the French Revolution. The land was subsequently sold to a local family in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, who had owned the land for seven generations. Dr. Philip Dufice is one of the last members of the family, and certainly one of the most famous.。He came to the area during World War II and married into the family. The man known as "The Doctor" was passionate about the property and poured all his resources and energy into it. For nearly two decades, he worked on the development of the property, doubling its size and developing sales in multiple markets overseas. In 1975, his son died in an accident, and Dufius decided to leave Nallis. It was sold to Groupama Insurance Company. In 2017, the Guigard family purchased Château de Nalis, attracted by the unique "terroir" and its rich history.

Since its founding in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, Château Guigal has been selecting and maturing the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Nalys holds a special place in the hearts of Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the sons and grandsons of the estate’s founders. By purchasing property in this prestigious and historic appellation, they have realized a three-generation dream. Both companies are committed to expressing the best of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, applying the passion and rigor that are at the heart of the family's quality philosophy.

Drawn mainly from the lieux-dits of Bois Sénéchal and Nalys, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Saintes Pierres Blanc is a crisp, focused, almost Burgundian-styled white, with a healthy dose of Clairette in the blend. It's medium-bodied, linear and long, with notes of white pepper and lime zest on the nose.
