【History about Santa Rita】
Founded in 1880, Santa Rita is one of Chile's oldest and most respected wineries. Its long and glorious history can be traced back to the early days of Chilean winemaking more than 120 years ago, and now it has more than 3,200 hectares of excellent vineyards in Chile's most important wine-producing regions. Santa Rita has always focused on terroir, innovation and brand development, working with experienced winemakers to produce consistently delicious and unique wines.
In 1880, Mr. Domingo Fernández Concha, an outstanding entrepreneur at the time, created Viña Santa Rita in the same area of Alto Jahuel, where the main facilities are located.
In 1980, Santa Rita was acquired by the Claro Group, one of Chile's most important economic holdings. Today, Santa Rita vineyards are located on some of the best and most diverse land in Chile to ensure optimal growth and development of each variety. Viña Santa Rita is one of Chile's most progressive and quality producers. Santa Rita exports 2 million cases of wine to more than 70 countries around the world every year, making it one of the top three wine producing countries in Chile. In addition, it has a 30% market share in the Chinese market.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Casa Real, from Alto jahuel, spent 20 months in barrels, 83% of them new. Garnetred with a purple sheen. The nose presents black currant, blackberry, cedar, balsamic and ashy notes from theaging process, as well as orange peel, graphite and a minty backdrop. The best qualities are the broad, polishectannins and the silky feel. Lingers at length at the back of the mouth, leading to a fruity, complex finish followedby an aftertaste of sour cherry.

Savory anise and red peppercorn with herbal black cherries, damsons and undergrowth. This is a tight and bright cabernet on the palate, showing exuberant red berries and firm but round tannins. Fluent, quite long and spicy. Drink or hold.

Aromas of green bell pepper, tobacco, and black fruit fill up the bouquet of this smooth wine sourced from old vines in Alto Jahuel. On the palate, hints of spices appear alongside ripe black cherries, plum, blueberry, and oaky flavors. It has firm tannins and lingering chocolate notes on the finish.

It doesn't get much more classical than the 2019 Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon, a textbook example of a Maipo Cabernet with the list of classical descriptors: lead pencil, cedar wood, blackcurrants, mint, balsam, earth and spice. It's juicy and ripe without excess, with 14.5% alcohol, a soft palate and round tannins and a dry finish 14,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2021 after 20 months in barrel, 82% of them new, but the oak is neatly integrated in the wine.
