Yamanashi Meishu was founded in 1750. The first president was Mr. Kitahara Ihei. He had a special liking for the clear and sweet water of Hakushu, so he chose to brew wine there. Now in its 12th generation, the company upholds the belief of passing on Japanese culture and brewing techniques from generation to generation. In 1835, in order to celebrate the completion of a new sake brewery, the nobles of Shinshu (Nagano Prefecture) specially presented an ancient screen engraved with the Seven Sages of the Chinese Bamboo Forest, hence the name "Seven Sages".

Oonaka-ya is the name used by Yamanashi Meijo when it established "Agricultural Corporation Oonaka-ya" in 1999 (Heisei 11), and it is also the name of the Seven-Ken House (i.e. the traditional business name). The wine is crowned with the Seven-Ken House name - "Oonaka-ya", which can certainly represent the style of Seven-Ken and is one of its top wines. It is brewed using underground water from Kai Komagatake in Hakushu and "Dream Mountain Water" ground to 27% by rice and step. From koji making to squeezing, it is all made by hand.

The aroma is gorgeous, with rich and rich fruit flavors of melon, peach and pear. It is smooth and smooth in the throat, with sweet fragrance and fresh taste. The famous winemaker Kitahara Ryoku left Seven-Ken in 2024 and is currently building a new brewery in Hokkaido. It can be said to be one of Kitahara Ryoku's "last works" at Seven-Ken.
