The relationship between the winery and gin began with a pure journey of exploration. I quit my stable job without a plan and embarked on a life-changing gin journey. The brewery created the first bottle of felt wine "VIRGIN" in the UK. After returning to Hong Kong, the winery conducted a blind tasting of the felt wine during a gathering with friends and family. What surprises the distillery is that even among the top gins, "VIRGIN" is often the favorite.

Like any other epic adventure, after taking a sip of gin, the brewer decided to plunge into the brewery's mission without hesitation - to establish Hong Kong's first gin distillery. After two and a half years of arduous journey, the distillery broke through its comfort zone, accumulated countless knowledge and experience, and finally founded the Zhiyue Distillery. After several iterations, “VIRGIN” transformed into the distillery’s now award-winning signature dry felt!

The creation and selection of the signature dry felt wine is inspired by the traditional Cantonese concept of "sweet, sour, bitter and spicy", also known as "the harmony of basic flavors"; perfectly blending the characteristics of each herb to create a balanced, Complex and easy drinking gin. The gin uses 12 botanicals (half of which are from Asia), including fragrant citrus fruits, sweet nuts, juniper berries and a variety of soft spices. This is the first gin from the Zhiyue Distillery. It represents and records the founding journey of Zhiyue gin, and opens a new chapter for gin in Hong Kong.

The nose has citrus and pepper aromas. A sip of this wine brings out the crisp aroma of lemon and sweet orange peel, which develops into the soft fragrance of pink peppercorns. Sweet, nutty notes of vanilla and almonds coat the palate, before layers of juniper berries, coriander seeds, green cardamom and liquorice complete the finish.
