This is a very thoughtful Seña that shows unique aromas of warm earth, mushrooms and conifer, turning to dark berries and black olives. The palate is more glamorous with ultra-fine tannins that envelop your palate. Shows power and vibrancy at the end. Toned muscles. It’s a very intellectual wine that harkens back to the 2015. Blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 18% malbec, 15% carmenere, 7% cabernet franc and 5% merlot. Beautiful to try now, but better after 2023

今天，2020年9月3日，正是 Sena 2018年份release 出市場的第一天。很榮幸能在同一天試到亞洲代表帶來的這款 Jame Suckling 滿分酒💯

簡介一下這款來自智利的葡萄酒為何如此聞名。在以往是法國和意大利葡萄酒的世代﹐Sena憑一次 (2004年) 在 “柏林盲品會” 中，以第二位之名擊敗第三位拉菲酒莊 (Chateau Lafite) 而聲名大噪！從此，便喚起世人對智利酒另眼相看。

今天的試酒會分別試了 Sena 2011 (James Suckling 95分) 和 Sena 2018 (James Suckling 100分)。開始前心裡滿是疑問…即使拿了100分的2018年，但酒這麼年輕，現在適飲嗎?

待酒莊代表到來，酒還是即開的 (醒酒大約半小時)，到底是什麼底蘊? 結果是令在場的各酒友們都驚訝！2018年表現到的單寧強勁而順滑，即使只醒酒半小時，但完全沒有半點稜角。Nose & Palate 同樣令人讚嘆。酸度亮麗，骨幹結構完美，各方面平衡得恰到好處。難怪是滿分酒，果然是不同。

再細心了解，原來2011年跟2018年所用到的葡萄比例也不同。雖然同樣是22個月橡木桶陳存。但2011年加入15% 的 Merlot，但到2018年把那15% Merlot 換成了 Malbec。結果同一款酒，兩個年份表現出兩種完全不同的風情。2011年更貼近 New World 風格，而2018年顯得更 classic 及優雅。要在兩者之間選擇，令人頭痛😂 不竟2011年陳年接近10年時間，現在是更接近適飲的年份。

Sena 2018 : 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot

Nose – Violet, earthy, tobacco, meaty, earth, mushrooms

Palate – red cherry, chocolate, olive, tea leaf, skinny tannin and full powerful body, long lasting 10-13 second.

2011 : 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carmenere, 15% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc

Nose – plum, raspberry, leather, meaty, cider

Palate – mints, hawthorn, creamy, toffee, cherry, medium-bodied, with balanced concentration and good acidity.
