Haut-Bailly 酒莊位於格拉夫(Graves)的雷奧良村 (Leognan) 內，該村在波爾多城南邊。酒莊的鄰居包括 Château Malartic-Lagravière、Château Smith Haut Lafitte 和 Château Carbonnieux. 是一個有著非常古老歷史的酒莊，百年之前名聲與身價曾與 Chateau Latour、Ausone 等頂級酒莊等平起平坐，期間經歷一段轉型期。1998 年美國銀行家 Wilmers 家族買下Haut-Bailly，交由原莊主的孫女孫女維羅妮卡·桑德斯（ Veronique Sanders ）全權掌管。數年之前維羅妮卡（ Veronique ）曾帶回一瓶 1961 Haut-Bailly，其後在Parker來訪時開瓶宴請貴賓享用，當時Parker對於1961 Haut Bailly 的表現讚不絕口，簡直媲美 1961 Haut-Brion。

進入 2000 年之後，Haut-Bailly 的品質已有著不俗的水準，隨著大多數設備被替換為更加現代、精準的釀酒設備，2004 年是酒莊重大轉捩點，自此年份開始 Haut-Bailly 的表現脫胎換骨，一躍位居 Graves 地區頂尖水準，不僅 05、06 連續兩年得到 Parker 95 分的評分，2008 年的評分更與同村的五大酒莊 Haut-Brion 同樣獲得 Parker 96分，是整個 Passec-Leognan的最高分，Haut-Bailly 又重回昔日的光輝，再度站上 Passec-Leognan 精英酒莊的頂尖位置。

酒莊堅持不使用除草劑，堅持手工採摘葡萄。為確保葡萄的高質量，同時控制產量，酒莊定期剪枝，並根據葡萄樹開花後的情況為果實疏枝。2016年，酒莊獲得EPV資格。EPV，Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant 是政府對他們的 vigneron 技能和文化遺產的認可。

Haut-Bailly 酒莊有33公頃葡萄園具有30公頃種植到 60％赤霞珠，34％梅洛，3％品麗珠和3％小維多，風土是礫石，砂岩和石灰岩土壤上的沙子。土壤中的砂岩含有大量的化石化石，為葡萄酒增添了獨特的特色。葡萄園位於大片的葡萄藤中，僅由葡萄園中的一條小路隔開。葡萄樹平均年齡為35歲。葡萄園的葡萄種植密度為每公頃10,000株。其中4公頃土地的上Haut Bailly 葡萄園中有15％的葡萄樹的壽命超過120年！酒莊採用 50-65% 新橡木桶，平均陳熟16-18 個月。

第三款：Pessac-Léognan，在2019年之前，第三種葡萄酒以Pessac Leognan de Chateau Haut Bailly的形式出售。

第四款：ROSE DE HAUT-BAILLY 自2004年以來開始製作。

第五款：CHATEAU LE PAPE，於2011年購買了附近的 Pessac Leognan 房地產Chateau Le Pape，從而增加了資產。

Wonderful nose of decadent fruit and chocolate, with hints of meat and flowers. Full bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a spicy, silky and long finish. Tight now, but so fine and dense. Give it four to five years of bottle age. So lovely. Best after 2013.

A candidate for the -wine of the vintage,- the 2008 Haut-Bailly possesses incredible complexity. Tell-tale notes of lead pencil shavings, charcoal, damp earth, black cherries and black currants intermixed with a hint of subtle barbecue smoke are present in this classic, quintessential Graves. Medium-bodied with an emerging, precocious complexity, it is a super-pure, beautifully textured, long wine that can be drunk now or cellared for 20-25 years. Bravo!

🏅Wine Spectator 90 pts

Racy and slightly taut, with red currant and cherry pit notes laced with grilled herb and warm stone. There's a sinewy edge on the finish, with more minerality than fruit for now, but this adds some flesh as it airs, showing subtle persistence. Drink now through 2016. 6,000 cases made. — JM
