Chateau Rauzan Segla 2016 Margaux 魯臣世家《ZTF1097A》

Rauzan-Ségla was once part of the vast Rauzan estate owned by Pierre de Mesures de Rauzan in the mid-17th century. Over time, this estate was divided, and by the time of the 1855 Classification, had been separated into the estates of Château Rauzan-Gassies, Château Rauzan-Ségla, Château Desmirail, and Château Marquis de Terme.

Château Rauzan-Ségla has arguably some of the best terroir in all of Margauxure of soils, she have gently sloping vineyards and mixture of soils.  Nothing is left to chance at this estate, and the winemaking team carefully assesses the optimum terroirs to plant the vines.  Multiple clones of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are planted in different parcels on the estate depending on the soil.  Merlot is planted on the vineyard sites with bluish clay and Cabernet Sauvignon is planted in the more graveled areas of the 79-hectare vineyard. 

To produce the wine of Chateau Rauzan Segla, vinification takes place in 35 temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks size from 41 hectoliters to 220 hectoliters .

Malolactic fermentation takes place in vat. The wine of is aged in an average of 50% to 60% new, French oak barrels for between 18 to 20 months, depending on the character of the vintage.

There is a second wine, Segla. Segla is not sold as a future. It is only offered once the wine is bottled. On average, the production ranges from 10,000 to 12,000 cases of Chateau Rauzan Segla per vintage. Segla is not sold as a future and is only offered to the market once the wine is in the bottle. The production of Segla is also close to 10,000 to 12,000 cases per year.
