從2003年開始La Combe des Fous誕生立即被 Robert Parker 每年給予超高評分,短短5年便取得RP親評2次滿分(2005和2007年),而過住兩個滿份年份Robert Parker 都要經過第二或第三次才將分數調升至滿分,而2010年Robert Parker 第一評是 98-100分,之後第二次是98分,RP退休後就再無機會再review ,但從他第二次酒評寫道: 「There have been many great vintages of this wine (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011), but the 2010 flirts with perfection. One of the most complex aromatic expressions of Chateauneuf du Pape」,確實如果他再review,好大機會加分到滿分,而他的徒弟專評隆河酒的Jeb Dunnuck 也評此酒接近滿分的99分。



Robert Parker 曾評論如果要給一間酒莊在 Rhone 區進步最快, 一定非 Clos Saint Jean 莫屬,被形容為「Musigny of the Southern Rhone 」,在03年至10年8年間就取得Robert Parker 及Jeb Dunnuck 二人加起來超過十多次的滿分💯‼️酒莊由Edmund Tacussel建立於1900年,1910年開始才正式對外銷售,比教皇新堡成為法定AOC的時間還早了幾十年。雖然年代悠久,但一直未聞名於世,直至 Pascal Maurel 和 Vincent Maurel 兩兄弟在2002年從去世的父親接過酒莊經營,2003年酒莊還聘用Philippe Cambie作為釀酒顧問進行改革才發生巨大的蛻變,當年的引爆點就是RP對他家2003的酒打出高分,自此酒莊的名氣便扶搖直上,一口氣衝上隆河神莊級別 。


Clos Saint-Jean在La Crau 共擁有 44公頃葡萄園,另有1公頃專門種植白葡萄品種。這款La Combe des Fous名字翻譯過來是「愚人谷」,的稱號,笑稱這片葡萄園還是荒地,漫山都係搬不動的大石頭,只有傻人先會選擇在這裡種葡萄。這款酒所用的歌海娜來自於20世紀初的老藤,年產量僅500箱左右。完全除梗maceration 長達35日,Grenache 完不過桶,而 Mourvedre 和Syrah 放橡木桶陳放1-2年,葡萄比例是60% Grenache、20% Syrah、10% Cinsault and 10% Vaccarese。連Wine Cellar Insider 對此酒的酒評第一句便是:「Damn this is good juice! 」,真係好飲到講粗口

Also up with the top wines of the vintage,the 2010 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Combe des Fous shows the darker fruit and mineralityof the vintage with its creme de cassis, blackberry, ground pepper, licoriceand ample crushed rock-like minerality. Gaining more than one expletive in thenotes, this full-bodied 2010 has thrilling purity of fruit, massive underlyingstructure and a rich, layered and decadent feel on the finish. As with most2010s, it needs another 3 to 4 years of bottle age and will easily have twodecades of overall longevity

The 2010 Clos Saint JeanChâteauneuf-du-Pape La Combe des Fous is an utterly brilliant wine! A blend of60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 10% Vaccarese, it offers anextraordinary bouquet of spring flowers, sappy garrigue, ground pepper, andsearing minerality that is anchored by a core of sweet red and black fruits.More elegant and seamless than the Deus-Ex Machina, it has full-bodied power,layers of texture, and a blockbuster finish that highlights masses of silky tannin.Thrilling stuff and my favorite vintage of the cuvee to date, it deserves 3-4years of bottle age, and will evolve for 2+ decades

🏅Vinous 95 pts

(made from 60% grenache and 20% syrah, withcinsault, vaccarese and muscardin): Inky ruby. Heady, spice-accented aromas ofdark berry preserves, potpourri and smoky minerals. Stains the palate withintense black raspberry and lavender pastille flavors and becomes spicier withair. Powerful yet lithe and seamless, with superb finishing clarity and lingeringfloral notes. Tannins make a late appearance but are quickly absorbed by thiswine's luscious fruit.

🏅Wine Spectator 95 pts

This is very densely packed, with toastedfig bread, charcoal, roasted espresso bean, steeped black currant andblackberry fruit, followed by a flash of pastis on the finish. Very dark andrich, but has grip and length for balance, revealing a terrific, but deeplyimbedded, graphite spine in reserve
