History

The history of Chateau Talbot is rich. On the plateau of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, you can see Chateau Talbot from distance. It has the name of Connetable Talbot, famous English warrior. In 1855, during the classification of the Medoc and Graves vineyards commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III, Chateau Talbot was promoted to the fourth cru classe of Saint-Julien. The estate was acquired in 1917 by Desire Cordier, then his son Georges and his grandson Jean succeeded him. Under their leadership, Chateau Talbot became one of Bordeaux’s most famous vintages. Today the property is managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier, assisted by Jean-Pierre Marty. Connetable Talbot is the second wine of the property.
