Laurent Roumier Winery is an important branch of the legendary Roumier family in Burgundy, with a history dating back to 1924, founded by grandfather Georges Roumier, which established the family's prestigious position in the Burgundy wine world. Laurent Roumier, as the third generation of the family, co-managed the family business with his brother until he established his own winery in 1991. Initially owning only 4 hectares of leased vineyards, through decades of careful cultivation and acquisition expansion, it now owns approximately 12.5 hectares of vineyards, all located in Chambolle-Musigny.
The winery adheres to the core philosophy of "terroir-based" winemaking, continuing the family's traditional winemaking techniques while incorporating modern environmental concepts. It insists on natural cultivation methods without chemical fertilizers or herbicides, and the vines, with an average age of 35 years, provide a solid guarantee for the quality of the grapes. Laurent Roumier is not only a highly skilled winemaker but also a staunch guardian of the Burgundy terroir. His father, Alain Roumier, served as cellar manager at Château de Vogue for nearly 30 years, and this deep family heritage provides a powerful impetus for the winery's development.

Chambolle-Musigny, located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, is renowned for its elegant, delicate, and aromatic Pinot Noir wines. It is considered a "feminine" wine region, known for its velvety texture and noble character. The region's soils are primarily a mixture of limestone and clay, with excellent drainage. The significant diurnal temperature variation contributes to the grapes' exceptional acidity and aromatic complexity.
The appellation boasts several Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, including:
Les Amoureuses: A Premier Cru vineyard, renowned for its intense floral and fruity aromas, it is one of the most prestigious Premier Cru vineyards in Chamborough-Musigny.
Bonnes Mares: A Grand Cru vineyard, adjacent to the Musigny Grand Cru, producing wines that combine power and elegance with fine tannins.
Musigny: A Grand Cru vineyard, covering only about 10 hectares, it is one of the most prized vineyards in Burgundy, producing wines with rich complexity and excellent aging potential.
Laurent Roumier's vineyards are spread across several prime plots surrounding the village of Chamborough-Musigny, encompassing village-level and Premier Cru categories. The Premier Cru plots, adjacent to the Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, possess exceptional terroir, providing an ideal foundation for producing high-quality wines.

Laurent Roumier insists on hand-harvesting and rigorously selecting grapes to ensure each vine reaches optimal ripeness. Fermentation utilizes natural yeasts, with some wines retaining a small amount of whole-cluster fermentation to enhance aromatic complexity. After fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 12-18 months, with a barrel turnover rate of approximately 30%-50%, adjusted according to vintage and terroir to balance the wine's intensity and finesse.
The winery uses minimal human intervention during winemaking, respecting the terroir's inherent characteristics. Through slow and gentle vinification, they maximize the preservation of Pinot Noir's elegant aromas and delicate palate. Pre-bottling typically involves no clarification or filtration to maintain the wine's original flavor and complexity. This natural and minimalist winemaking concept allows Laurent Roumier's Chambolle-Musigny wines to perfectly showcase the region's terroir and the true quality of the grapes.
