Domaine Bony Gachot Nuits Saint Georges Les Damodes 2023《TF273》

Domaine Bony Gachot is a family-run boutique winery located in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the Côte de Nuits appellation of Burgundy, France.

The winery's history dates back to the 1960s, when Jean-Pierre Bony and his wife established Domaine Bony Gachot in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Over four decades, the winery continued to grow, while Jean-Pierre, the owner, gradually aged. In 2000, Jean-Pierre decided to retire to the countryside for a period of retirement, and his daughter, Fabienne Bony, took over the management of the winery. In 2007, with the help of Fabienne's husband, Samuel, they began a winery business and expanded the winery's offerings.

Today, the winery boasts six hectares of vineyards, all located in the wine-producing village of Nuits-Saint-Georges. In addition to using grapes from their own vineyards, the winery also purchases grapes from other high-quality vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges to expand its winery's portfolio and production. The winery employs a semi-organic vineyard management method called Lutte raisonnee ("Raisonne"), which involves pruning vines to control yields and reduce pests and disease. Chemicals are only used in cases of pest infestation or extreme environmental conditions, and only when they are not harsh on the environment. The primary grape variety grown in the vineyards of Château Bonny is Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Chardonnay also grown.

Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of Burgundy's most renowned wine-producing regions and the largest city on the Côtes de Nuits. Located at the southern tip of the Côte de Nuits, it is renowned for its high-quality red wines. These wines are widely praised for their powerful structure, aging potential, and elegant flavors. Nuits-Saint-Georges is not only a favorite among wine lovers but also a vital symbol of Burgundy's winemaking history. It consists of two parts: the village itself stretches to the northern border of Vosne-Romanée, while the southern part of the region lies within Nuits-Saint-Georges and also spans the vineyards of neighboring Premeaux and Prissey.

Les Damodes, located in the northern part of the region and adjacent to Vosne-Romanée, is one of the region's most renowned premier crus. It lies just 120 meters from the Grand Cru La Romanée and shares the same ridge and latitude as the Grand Cru Les Richebourgs. The wines from this vineyard have a taste more similar to the Vosne-Romanée style and differ significantly from those from Nuits-Saint-Georges.
