Lo Sparviere Cuvee No 7 Sparkling, Franciacorta《WC Collection - I043》

Tasting Note : Brilliant straw yellow tinged with gold bead. Compact, subtle and lingering, with a dense mouss . Bouquet is typical, with notes of light honeys, ripe fruit including peach, buttery nuances characteristic of the Chardonnay grape, white nuts, especially almonds, and hints of crusty bread. The palate is an eloquent tangy, fresh balance with mineral notes, lingering nicely while retaining an evident softness in the structure. Perfect for aperitifs with vegetable puffs and marinated salmon canapés, to be preferred with delicate starters, especially hot and cold fish dishes. Serve with light first courses, seafood risotto, and vegetarian pasta. Savour with semi-ripe goat cheese.

The History of Winery 

In the gentle hills around the municipality of Monticelli Brusati in Franciacorta lies the Lo Sparviere winery, named after the sparrowhawk who lives there. The bird of prey, which belongs to the hawk family, adorns both the coat of arms and the fireplace in the company's main hall. The beautiful 16th century villa belonging to the property has been lovingly restored over the years, as has the venerable cellar, where still today fruity, dense and mineral sparkling wines with fine and persistent perlage are produced according to the traditional Metodo-Classico method. The Lo Sparviere estate extends over 150 hectares, one fifth of which is used for wine-growing.

Because of his love for wine, Ugo Gussalli had founded the agricultural group Gussalli Beretta. Under its roof, in addition to Lo Sparviere, are the Castello di Radda estates in the Chianti Classico area, Orlandi Contucci Ponno in Abruzzo and the Cascina Pressenda in Castelletto di Monforte d'Alba. Lo Sparviere is guided with a sure hand by Ugo's wife Monique Poncelet. Born in Belgium, she learned to appreciate Franciacorta - the land of sparkling wines, castles, fortresses and churches - at an early age.
