Morlet Family酒莊位於加州St. Helena。Luc Morlet是法國釀酒家族的第五代，他們於法國香檳區擁有酒莊Pierre Morlet & Fils。Luc於1996年離開法國，來到太太Jodie的家鄉 ── 加州，二人一起建立酒莊，於2006年出產第一個年份。

Morlet的釀酒信念是減少干預、貫徹舊世界風格。用天然酵母發酵，在法國橡木桶中陳年。出品的葡萄酒既強勁又精緻，具有陳年潛力，深受世界各地的高級餐廳垂青。

Cœur de Vallée，顧名思義，就是位於Napa Valley的中心。Cabernet Sauvignon及Cabernet Franc受惠於溫暖而又溫和的微氣候，以及粘土質但排水良好的礫石火山土壤。

莊主 Luc Morlet 來自法國背景有關，出生於 Epernay ，家族5代人都是香檳區的葡萄農，主理的葡萄是嬌嫩細緻的 Pinot Noir 和 Chardonnay，Luc 畢業於 Ecole Viticole de Champagne，在布根地商學院完成MBA，又在 Maison Chanson Pere et Fils 工作過，而在 Chateau Dauzac 工作期間又跟隨了 Jacques Boissenot 學習，在美國Newton Vineyard 當釀酒師時又與 Michiel Roland 共事，故不難解釋 Morlet的釀酒風格有著強烈舊世界法國原素，難怪 Robert Parker 對 Luc Morlet的評價：「 Luc Morlet is not only a fabulous winemaking talent, he knows how to bring the French savoir faire of complexity, elegance and precision to the ripe, concentrated, intense fruit of California." 」

On this occasion, as part of a long vertical, I was even more impressed by Morlet's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur de Vallee than I had been in the past, when I awarded it 95 points. Marked by scents of cassis, blueberries and cherries, it's full-bodied, plush and rich, showing wonderful balance between concentration and lightness and finishing long.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceur de Vallée is soft, racy and gracious. lt presents gorgeous savoryaromatics to play off its mid-weight structure and understated personality. Black cherry, mocha, leather,spice and menthol grace this understated Cabernet. This soft, open-knit Cabernet is already quite accessibleand delicious.

Rich and a little “sweet”, very voluptuous and hedonistic. Ultra-fine, powdery tannins, vanilla spices, cassis and a hint of roasted red capsicum and milk chocolate. Spicy, even and integrated on the palate with a long finish. Pure silk. 94% cabernet sauvignon and 6% cabernet franc. Very hedonistic and pleasurable Napa red. Drink now or hold.
