超二級莊 Chateau Leoville Las Cases “副牌”？

Robert Parker：Clos du Marqui 比許多正牌列級莊的質素要高

Clos du Marquis 雄獅莊園-侯爵堡，位於 Saint-Julien 聖朱里安產區，與超二級莊 Chateau Leoville Las Cases 雄獅酒莊、中級莊 Chateau Potensac、波美侯 Chateau Nenin 同門，時任 Leoville-Las-Cases 雄獅酒莊經理的 Theophile Skawinski 收購了雄獅的部分股權，並在之後將股權轉讓給了女婿 Andre Delon，隨後，實力雄厚的 Delon 家族不斷收購雄獅的股權，成為了酒莊唯一的所有者。為了突顯不同地塊風土的差異性，1902年，雄獅將旗下 Clos du Marquis 的果實單獨釀酒，使其成為一個獨立的葡萄酒品牌。

葡萄園源自與 Chateau de Leoville-Marquis de Las Cases 宅邸毗鄰的 Petit Clos 小園，其優質風土同樣屬於 Saint-Julien 聖朱里安產區，風土的位置更靠西，周圍坐落著很多著名的列級名莊，特別是 Saint-Julien 和 Pauillac 的二級名莊，Léoville Poyferré 波菲莊園、Léoville Barton 巴頓酒莊、Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 碧尚女爵，距離 Leoville-Las-Cases 雄獅莊園以西500米處，但並不屬 Leoville-Las-Cases 風土範圍內，自推出以來一直有被追崇為 Leoville-Las-Cases 的副牌，直至2007年開始雄獅莊園推出了新的副牌酒 Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases，原先的 Clos du Marguis 成為一款獨立的葡萄酒，由此可見其品質極高，完美展現了 Saint-Julien 產區的典型性：結構、繁複、和諧、不凡，還有陳年能力。

Robert Parker 多次在 Wine Advocate 強調，Clos du Marquis 是波爾多最好的 second wine 之一，比許多正牌列級莊的質素要高。

"As I have indicated numerous times in this journal, the second wine of Las Cases, Clos du Marquis, is one of the finest second wines being made in Bordeaux. The quality level of the second wine of Leoville-Las Cases is unquestionably better than some of Bordeaux's famed 1855 classification's second and third growths."

葡萄園面積約 45 公頃，葡萄樹均齡 30 歲，土壤由第四紀的礫石構成，比 Leoville-Las-Cases 雄獅園的更古老、更細小，園內的表土是腐殖灰壤，下麵覆蓋著砂礫粘土，含豐富的有機物。

葡萄人手採摘，之後送到酒窖去梗，在可控溫條件下進行發酵，發酵的葡萄汁被抽出來然後噴淋酒帽，期間還需要持續浸泡。發酵過程結束後，於 40% 新的橡木桶熟成，之後經過澄清就裝瓶。

Clos du Marquis

The name of Clos du Marquis, created in 1902, was inspired by the Petit Clos adjacent to the Château de Léoville, residence of the Marquis de Las Cases. The Clos du Marquis is produced from top terroirs of the Saint-Julien Appellation that were not exclusively part of the old Domaine de Léoville cadastre. These terroirs are located slightly to the west and are surrounded by prestigious Classified Growths, particularly Seconds Crus Classés of Saint-Julien and Pauillac : Léoville Poyferré, Léoville Barton, Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande... The Clos du Marquis offers a fine expression of the Saint-Julien character : structure, complexity, harmony, distinction and ageing potential.

Le Petite Marquis

As new young vines were coming into production on the Clos du Marquis vineyard, and in the aim of preserving its acclaimed quality, a decision was made to create its own second wine. Produced from grapes grown for the vast majority on the superb Clos du Marquis terroirs, La Petite Marquise shows great subtlety and refinement. With its harmonious expression and delicate tannic structure, this wine is elegantly seductive and enchanting. To be enjoyed relatively young due to the dominance of Merlot in the blend.
