莊主兼Winemaker Giorgio Flessati在意大利著名葡萄酒學院 San Michele all'Adige畢業, 曾經在意大利、法國和澳洲不同酒莊擔任過顧問,2004年他的堂兄兼好友Mauro Olivier找他合作,在2005年正式成立Mayu酒莊,開展Giorgio在智利Elqui Valley釀造Premium智利酒的旅程~
莊名Mayu 解作Creek of Stars,正正代表著Elqui Valley的萬里星空~出名觀星的Elqui Valley同時亦是智利著名的高質酒區,充沛的日照,以海風和高山上的冷空氣平衡,加上日夜溫差,令葡萄成熟又可以保持良好酸度~
而Mayu正正坐落海拔2000米以上,是同區最高的酒莊之一,得天獨厚的風土難怪短短十幾年歷史就成功釀出多個高分Premium酒款!
而這枝就是Mayu評分比酒價還要高的入門熱賣酒款,6枝套裝價$75/枝但卻有Robert Parker + Vinous兩大酒評的多年90分高分肯定,喜歡智利酒或新世界酒,fruity/party酒款的你都不能錯過!
雖然求學不是求分數,但要知道好多百幾蚊智利大廠既Gran Reserva同Icon酒都未必有評分,再加上分數仲高過價錢!睇埋酒評嘅內文就知道有時分數絕對有參考價值~
🏅Wine Advocate 90分:
The peppery 2019 Carmenere Syrah is a 55/45 blend of the two grapes and is intensely spicy with smoky notes and a very showy nose. The palate is juicy and round, with ripe fruit flavors and integrated acidity. The Syrah from this zone has a lot of character and kind of dominates the blend. 45,000 bottles produced.
🏅Vinous 90分:
The 2019 Carménère Syrah is a blend of 51% Carménère and 49% Syrah from the Elqui Valley, each aged for five months in French and American oak, respectively. Maroon in the glass, it delivers chutney aromas with hints of white pepper, bay leaf and blackberry. In the mouth, it’s juicy with a lively freshness, polished tannins and well-defined, balsamic flavor.
