Located on the heights of Chablis, the Domaine Begue-Mathiot has a unique panoramic view over the grand crus of the vineyard. Maryse and Guylhaine give great care and attention every day to their 17 hectares of vines and make their wines using all their considerable know-how, to produce great Chablis wines.

Vaillons is one of the largest and most well-known Premier Cru vineyards, covering 123.52 hectares. Located on the west side of the Serin River, the vineyard faces southeast. The Vaillons hills receive abundant sunlight, especially in the mornings, allowing the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness and fresh acidity. This sunlight is not as strong as the afternoon sun experienced on southwest-facing slopes (such as Chablis Grand Cru vineyards), resulting in lighter-bodied wines. The vineyard's soil is classic Kimmeridian, with a high proportion of limestone creating a strong mineral flavor. Chardonnay produced in Vaillons often has a rich floral aroma and is more delicate than wines from the other side of the river.

Domaine Bègue-Mathiot, owned by Maryse and Guylhaine Bègue-Mathiot, boasts 17 hectares of vineyards. They are committed to crafting wines that truly express the Chablis terroir. This Vaillons Premier Cru wine is typically unoaked, or minimally oaked, to maximize the purity of the Chardonnay grapes and the minerality of the terroir, a hallmark of Chablis.
