Chateau L'Evangile(樂王吉酒莊)是法國波爾多波美侯(Pomerol)產區的著名酒莊之一,鄰近帕圖斯酒莊(Petrus)、老色丹酒莊(Vieux ChateauCertan)和康色揚酒莊(Chateau La Conseillante)及白馬酒莊(Chateau Cherval Blanc)等。

 



18世紀中葉,樂王吉酒莊為利布恩市(Libourne)的雷格理茲(Leglise)家族所擁有。1741年的土地管理簿中還記錄著酒莊當時的名字——“法茲勒(Fazilleau19世紀初,酒莊被一位名叫伊桑貝爾(Isambert)的律師買下,並被重新命名為樂王吉酒莊。樂王吉(Evangile)在法語中為福音之意,重新命名後的酒莊也不負其名,成為波美侯地區名副其實的福音

 



1862年,保羅·查伯隆(Paul Chaperon)收購了樂王吉酒莊,並通過一系列努力使之聞名於世,賦予酒莊第二帝國(Second Empire)式的獨特建築風格。在1868年的《科克斯與費雷》(Cocks Et Feret)第二版中,樂王吉酒莊被列為上波美侯(Haut-Pomerol)地區的一等酒莊(Premier Cru)。查伯隆去世後,他的女兒繼承了酒莊,之後她又將酒莊帶入夫家杜卡斯(Ducasse)家族,該家族在1990年前一直掌管著酒莊。

 



1990年,酒莊被拉菲羅斯柴爾德集團(Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite)收購。集團接掌樂王吉酒莊之後,立刻開始對酒莊進行了全方位的改革和提升。最初的措施包括對用以釀造正牌酒的葡萄進行更為精細的挑揀,創制Blason de L’Evangile作為酒莊的副牌酒。此外,整頓措施還包括一連串計畫:儘量拖延葡萄採收期,使葡萄盡可能成熟,且極力控制產量,每公頃不超過4,500升,以提高葡萄植株的品質,該計畫已於1998年部分完成。2004年,酒莊和酒窖進行整修工程,酒莊的新格局由此誕生。1995年至2005年是成績顯著的十年,這些年份樂王吉酒莊出產的葡萄酒具有極佳品質,尤其是1995年、1996年、2000年和2005年的品質尤為出色。

 

樂王吉酒莊所處的地理位置可謂是得天獨厚,Baron Eric de Rothschild曾說:我們無法抗拒這片非凡獨特的土地。雖完全不同於梅多克(Medoc),但也絕對出色!波美侯高地東南部有著一片極長的礫石地,這片珍貴的土地由三座酒莊共用,其中就包括樂王吉酒莊。樂王吉酒莊佔據著極富戰略性的位置,北鄰柏圖斯酒莊的葡萄園,南邊僅有一條二級公路將它與聖埃美隆產區的白馬酒莊隔開。目前,酒莊葡萄園占地22公頃,土質為沙質黏土與礫石,底土含鐵量高。園內種植了80%的梅洛(Merlot),其餘20%為品麗珠(Cabernet Franc),前者可賦予葡萄酒果香、豐盈的酒體以及無與倫比的柔順感,後者則為葡萄酒帶來精細的特質和極佳的結構。葡萄園的產量有限,採收以及其它多項工作全靠人工完成。酒莊聘請著名的飛行釀酒師” Michel Rolland擔任釀酒顧問。  



 

酒莊在拉菲集團的管理下,各片園區的葡萄被分成了不同的批次,以便在發酵的最後階段判定它們是否具有釀正牌酒的潛質。釀造過程中所有環節都緊密結合了傳統工藝與行之有效的現代技術。在發酵過程中,酒莊會進行淋皮和浸漬,期間會多次品嘗酒液。發酵後的葡萄酒被裝入橡木桶窖藏18個月。由於葡萄園地面積很小,酒莊平均年產量為5,000箱。著名葡萄酒評論家Robert Parker 曾稱讚樂王吉酒莊是波美侯的明日之星,他認為在拉菲集團的帶領下,樂王吉酒莊將有更大的發展潛力。一本多年前出版的《波爾多名酒》(Grands Vins de Bordeaux)著作則如此形容樂王吉酒莊孕育的正牌葡萄酒——“飽滿、優雅,具有無與倫比的細膩感。”

So ethereal and great on the nose withglorious fresh flowers, such as violets, together with black olives. Darkberries, too. But the archetypal Pomerol nose. Full-bodied yet, at the sametime, so refined and structured. Glorious tannin tension and focus. Vibrantfinish. Shows energy and focus.

For me, this is going to be every bit asgreat as the 1989, and is a worthy follower to the 2015. It's tight andreserved on the nose, with powerhouse Pomerol Merlot lurking behind. There's acreamy side to the raspberry and blackberry fruits in the mouth, and the powerand intensity tells you that this wine has an amazing future. The texture issilky-smooth, attesting to great freshness balanced by well-ripened fruits andseductive tannins.

The grand vin 2016 Château L'Evangile ismore primordial than the second wine, sporting a deep purple color and a hugenose of blueberries, scrub brush, violets, graphite, and lead pencil shavings.Deep, massively textured, with building minerality, a brilliant mid-palate, I'dimagine this is a modern-day version of the 1982.

The 2016 L'Evangile is made from 92% Merlotand 8% Cabernet France. It has a deep garnet-purple color and opens withnotions of plum preserves, Black Forest cake, red cherry compote and blackraspberries with touches of menthol, chocolate box, licorice and tobacco leaf.Medium to full-bodied, the palate features fantastically ripe, velvety tanninsand beautiful freshness, lifting the generous, brightly fruited mid-palate andgiving bags of energy to the very long-lingering, minerally finish.

 

🏅TimAtkin 97pts

The balance of this wine was hard to getright, according to Jean-Pascal Vazart, but it doesn’t show on the nose or thepalate. Using half of the normal percentage of Cabernet Franc, it’s a fine,sculpted, elegantly poised wine with a winning combination of texture, ripefruit and balancing acidity.

The 2016 L'Évangile is just as captivatingfrom bottle as it was from barrel. Huge and explosive in the glass, the 2016possesses stunning depth and textural resonance. At first a bit somber, the2016 needs time in the glass to open up. Once that happens, all the elementsfall into place in an effortless, gracious wine. Floral overtones add brightessto the dark cherry, chocolate, leather and spice flavors, while silky tanninsround things out in style. Jean-Pascal Vazart describes 2016 as a late year.Harvest started on September 26, about ten days later than normal. The 2016spent 16 months in French oak, 85% new.

 

🏅WineSpectator 96pts

Features a wide swath of espresso, loam andsmoldering tobacco flavors out front, followed by a tighter beam of blackcurrant and blackberry paste. Dense and fleshy in feel, with echoes of warmearth and bittersweet cocoa scoring the finish. This wine flaunts its muscle.

Extremely deep colour. Very intense,concentrated wine. Sweet start. Very muscular. Almost like cassis cordial!Massive 14.5% alcohol. Exotic and distinctive. Big and muscular. Brooding. Savoury.
